Major Leak or Burst Pipe
- Shut off main water supply immediately
- Turn off water heater if applicable
- Turn off electricity to affected areas if water near electrical
- Call plumber: TBD
- Document damage with photos for insurance
Flooding
During Flood
- Do not walk through moving water - 6 inches can knock you down
- Do not drive through flooded areas
- Move valuables to higher ground if safe to do so
- Shut off electricity at main panel if water approaching electrical
After Flood
- Do not return until authorities say it’s safe
- Document all damage with photos
- Do not turn on electricity until inspected
- Wear protective gear during cleanup
No Water / Low Pressure
- Check if neighbors have water (area-wide issue?)
- Check main shutoff valve is open
- Check circuit breaker for well pump (if applicable)

Frozen Pipes
Prevention
In freezing weather, let faucets drip slightly to prevent freezing
If Pipes Freeze
- Keep faucet open
- Apply heat gently (hair dryer, heat lamp, towels soaked in hot water)
- Never use open flame
- Start heating near faucet, work toward frozen area
- Check for cracks once thawed
